Website redesign — A refined visual strategy and user experience brings a storied brand into the new digital era.

Challenge

Taymor wanted to address significant UX issues along with refreshing their digital brand. Research showed the key issues included lack of detailed product information, complex product lines and quoting process lead to confusion and user drop-off.

Solution

Reorganized product hierarchy, richer info, and a new quoting experience allows users to make informed decisions and request a quote more efficiently. An updated digital visual strategy was created to align with Taymor's future online plans.

UGC demo app — Creating a live streaming web app with User Generated Content features powered by Amazon IVS.

Challenge

The Amazon IVS (Interactive Video Service) team needed a way to demonstrate how the service could be used to build User Generated Content functionality into an app. They wanted something that was convincing as a stand alone app and easy to use as a starting point for the client’s own projects.

Solution

We designed and built a live streaming app that featured interactive features like chat, quiz, polling, private streaming, product highlights and much more. This live demo provided the sales team with a high quality solution to help their customer realize the potential of Amazon IVS.

With an increase in climbing locations and programming across Canada, The Hive's website no longer met their needs. We were asked to redesign the site to be more mobile-friendly, prioritize the information users needed most and bring a bold new look to the visual design.

Solution

A redesigned site navigation, location-specific information, and integrated social media provided up to date content that users wanted most. The updated layout and styling brought more cohesion and personality to the site in a mobile-friendly package.

I have spent over two decades shaping design across web, UX, motion, print, and branding. I have worked as an in-house designer in the health and beauty industry, built a full-time client list as a freelancer and most recently helped to grow a digital agency with clients in the tech space. This diversity of experience has made me a versatile experience designer with the ability to think big picture and context switch quickly.

I am a hands on leader, seeking to support my team member's growth and learn from them as well. I value working with teams with diverse backgrounds, discovering how each individuals unique ideas can contribute to a project.

I live in the beautiful mountain town of Squamish, just outside of Vancouver, BC. When I’m not working, you will find me outdoors biking, skiing, or hiking. Visual art and photography are important creative outlets for me, and I prefer travel that strikes a balance between adventure and culture. To me, taking the time to look around the next corner, or waking up early to catch the perfect light is never a waste of time. It is this curiosity and care in the details that helps make me the creative problem solver that I am today.
